Homeless shelter questions and help ideas?
Might be facing foreclosure, have disabilities from worker comp that prevents me from getting jobs that I know how to do. Been applying everywhere, even places I shouldn't work at in a small town and still not getting any replies for being hired. Have no car and cant drive. Are homeless shelters safe? is there any government program that can help me ? I dont own the house living with my uncle.

- try selling weed
- instead of being on the computer maybe you should try selling drugs or your body either way you get moar profit than sitting at the computer
- find a girlfriend and move in with her
- that sucks!!!!! go to community college get like a 2-4 year easy and free education in something easy and try to make a living off of that. GL. ill pray for you (god is looking out for u) he isnt done with ur life yet!
- just don't do anything stupid. don't do anything against the law like selling drugs because you will end up in an even worse situation. maybe try asking family members or friends if they have any kind of work for you or can help you out, you might have to apply to the crappy jobs like mcdonalds or a job in the mall or something. at least to get you started. start saving up what you have now and dont spend your money on things you absolutely dont need. it will be rough, but if you work hard and long enough, i promise you can do it. my mom did it with six kids to raise.
- Contact your local public assistance office, they can give you info on who to contact regarding low-income housing. Where I live it's called the Housing Authority. Try looking in the Human Services section of your phone book under "housing". I live in a low income housing (apartment) complex where what you pay in rent depends on your income. There are also programs that help pay the rent for a house or apartment not in the complex as long as the house or apartment meets Housing Authority standards, and the Landlord is willing to be involved in the program. Many people who are on social security or have low income for whatever reason have found help with these programs. I have paid as little as $25 when me and my boyfriend were both out of work or between jobs with no reportable income. This happened just recently, but now we are back to work. And for a 4 bedroom apt (we have kids) the most we pay when we are both working is $600-628. But that's all utilities included. (you don't have to have kids to live here)
- Its not the shelters that are in question its more the people that are there when you are that determines whether they are safe or not,but the most unfortunate aspect of hitting rock bottom is that you have to be there before you can get any real assistance from the system. If you do end up having to resort to there help, try to distance yourself from getting to involved with other people as unfortunately many of those who do frequent these type of places are often con artist who give you the most believable sob stories and have you totally sucked in into believing them The good news is that often these organisations can really help people to get on there feet again and come up with good affordable propositions and opportunities for people thou generally it takes time. By no means are all the people you meet all bad,its just if you are naive or gullible somebody will latch on to you as quick as that and although they may not set out to do any bad by you,.it unfortunetly it is a more common outcome.
