How can you search for foreclosures without having to register with RealtyTrac?

- I don't believe that you can, but why wouldn't you want to?

- County Recorder's office is a good source. Lenders have to file notices of default or any other paperwork having to do with foreclosures at the County Recorder's office. Many people go there since it is public information. It is also a good source for investors who want to approach people filing for divorce since most divorce cases sell a home. I couldn't stomach that, personally. Also, check out your local library for a book on foreclosures. Plenty of free information out there. Good luck!
- You could go to your local county courthouse and look for "Lis Pendes" Lenders are required to advertise in a local newspaper foreclosures. Find out what newspaper they advertise in and subscribe to it. RealtyTrac brings all this information togther so you don't have to do the legwork. Hope this helps.
