Upcoming Foreclosures

Could someone please tell me again why America elected Obama?

Gitmo is still open. The war has not ended but rather escalated. The economy is in the dumper. The jobs market is awash. The stock market is continually flat. (1 year history;1 year future prospect) Foreclosures remain high. 102 banks have closed so far this year. The country is in debt. (astronomically so) We are being invaded from the south. In your answer.....Please fill free to add to my short list of things a dem prez., bolstered by a dem congress, needs to address.

Public Comments

  1. Apparently, golfing outweighs all the problems for him.
  2. Slogans and a splashy emblem. lp
  3. Because Oprah said to.
  4. Ignorance on so many parts. And just an outright hate for our Nation.
  5. Because he is black and handsome.
  6. Because he's black and promised people that he would steal from the rich and give to the poor and all that nonsense
  7. Cause people wanted change. They picked the wrong change though.
  8. i elected him to push the country left and health reform. my issues have been addressed. ...for now.
  9. He won the popularity contest, i mean. Even dead people voted for him.
  10. Most people are idiots.
  11. No, he's been President for a year and a half. It's time for you to just accept that as a reality.
  12. You should take your GOPer blinders off, your points are severely skewed. The stock market has been on a gradual upward climb since Bush has been gone. The bank closures are a direct result of the October 2008 crash, there is no invasion more then there was in the last 50 years. The only point you have is the job market, but it could be worse.
  13. because he is like another hitler (not like hes gonna start killing people not like tht) but he is charasmatic and makes u want to listen to him. He promised us the war would be over and that he would stop the recession and that he would make things better and that he would stop the violence and just change everythng when in reality he never will do any of that and is making America even worse.
  14. I don't really like Obama all that much (I think he's just been an extremely average president so far) but I think in the elections he was the lesser of two evils. McCain is getting old and senile and I actually supported him until he picked Palin has his running mate.
  15. he ran a better campaign vs a candidate who was clearly not the right choice. his term isn't over. the iraq war has been winding down. He pledged to focus more on afghanistan in his campaign, which he has. the market is up. GDP is up, growth is up. His policies saved many banks from collapse and they have paid back the $$. unemployment is high which is typically the last thing to rebound in a major recession....ask ronald reagan who had 3 years of brutally high numbers. we've been invaded from the south for 30+ years and no president has done anything except reagan who granted amnesty. If obama does anything he will be the first. need i go on....
  16. W and Voldemort were killing us!
  17. people apparently elected him but i find it funny that everyone i come across denys voting for him. Kinda ironic. he couldnt have been elected without votes?
  18. race and stupidity
  19. skin color. you forgot he is getting thousands of hard working oil workers on unemployment
  20. I think he has slowly but surely improved the economy, but high unemployment and your first two points ( Gitmo and Afganistan) could cost him re-election in 2012 if he looses independent and liberal support. It wouldn't be suprising to see a Democratic challenger run against him in the primaries either.
  21. bush. so many of your facts(?) are false I will not bother to address any of them
  22. Because only idiots voted for Obama
  23. Obama is a good president i must admit but he is trying his best... how bout u try to president of the USA... then u tell me what u think... and its not his fault about the oil spill... and at least he stoped the oil from leaking out into the oceans any more... =PP
  24. Health reform was passed.
  25. He was the best man for the job. Look at his opponents! BTW, your list is Bush's List of Accomplishments--not Obama's.
  26. Because our other choice was McCain/Palin. It seemed like a good idea at the time though now I doubt if McCain would be significantly worse (unless he had already died due to the pressure and we had Palin). This is the land of choose the lesser evil. We don't have good choices for our leaders. We get to choose between "I know this guy sucks but I only suspect his opponent does". Our parties pick our candidates and they often pick them despite the wishes of the majority of the party.
  27. And don't forget that he gave out the most offshore oil permits of any President all the while being the Green President for those dummies who eat that oatmeal that politicians shell out. He said he would not issue any more permits 77 times in the campaign and tree huggers just peed their pants for that warm fuzzy feeling...and then he turned around a did the huge permit thing and Sierra Club said well he was just doing it for the environment. Pretty sweet isn't it? We elected Obama cuz Bruce Springsteen said we had to and if we didn't we would be racists and now we are supposed to go down with the ship singing the We Ain't Racist song while Captain Obama drives it right into the bottom of the ocean.
  28. To avoid the increase of deregulation and trickle-down economics that Republicans implement that led to the financial xcrash of 2008. And their leadership considers that crash to be an "ant" in importance. They promote the very policies that brought the country to the brink of ruin. We may be in the doldrums, and there is some unemployment in my family - but my 401K has a value again.
  29. Because the repubs put up McCain. It was two very pungent piles of dog doo to choose from. McCain couldn't even get support from the right wing because of the BS he's done to the party in the past.
  30. All the things you listed were true before he was President except: The stock market is continually flat (The market is up over 40% from the lows when he took over) The war has been drawn down in Iraq like he said and escalated in Afghanistan which he said should be our focus He passed Healthcare reform He passed Financial reform He saved us from the next Great Depression along with TARP (which was Bush)
  31. Gitmo is still open The Iraq withdrawal is almost complete The economy is "in the dumper", but now we are complaining about the slow recovery rather than the rapid descent toward a depression that was the fear when he took office The job market is creating jobs for the first time in two years....three million jobs lost the last four months of the Bush administration, three million jobs created the last for months of the Obama administration Stock market it up 50% from when he took office 102 banks have closed this year -- all combined are not as big as Bear Sterns and all have not had the benefit of a Bush era bailout The country is in debt -- it was in debt (astronomically so) when Bush left office The number of illegal immigrants entering the country is about 50% what it was during the Bush administration Sorry, I can't add to your list, but I am not that good at fiction!
  32. He was the best choose among available options. Gitmo is still open because Republicans have blocked attempts to find a replacement. Obama is ending the war in Iraq and escalating the war in Afghanistan, refocusing the War on Terror on the people who attacked us on 9/11, as it always should have been. Stocks are up since his inauguration, GDP is growing, and inflation is at its lowest levels in more than 4 decades. The economy is not in the dumper. The job market is recovering, albeit slowly. None of the other problems are anything new. It seems hypocritical to criticize Obama for not solving problems yet which no other president managed to solve.
  33. Because he talked a good talk, although he has proven to be a dirt bag liar, and also, we thought he might bring us together, although he was a dirt bag liar, and because he is black, and a dirt bag liar.
  34. We wanted tax cuts for 95% of Americans. We wanted Health Care Reform, we wanted Wall Street reform and so far he is doing a fantastic job.
  35. He told more lies and had more money.
  36. MITE B THEY LIKED HIM
