How to get more time to evict a home?
Hi, If a home is in foreclosure and the redemption period is up..the bank will get a court summons to evict the owner. However, is there a way to ask the judge for more time to move out? How does MICHIGAN law work?

- Nope...you can fight the eviction, but at best, you will probably get 30 days by fighting. Go to the bank and tell them you need 60 days, you will turn in the keys and leave the house in clean and repaired condition and see what they say.
- You can ask, but the chances of getting this extended by the court is about zero. The reason is that you have had a bunch of notice this was coming, and since you are still lingering, the court is typically not lenient in this regard. The only thing I can suggest is if a Realtor comes knocking with a "cash for keys" offer, try to negotiate some more time with them.
