How do you like obama's idea about taking your house?

obama is proposing that the government take ownership of your house instead of foreclosure and then renting it back to you. I believe Russia did this in the day of gulags and it didn't work very well.

9. *laughs* It's not YOUR house anymore, regardless if the Government "rents" it to you or you foreclose and leave. It's a stupid policy that costs the American tax payers even MORE money and at the end of the day you STILL have to leave the place after a certain time period. So why not be pro-active, get on with your life and find someplace else to live that you can afford. I know if I was in a position to lose my house, I would just want to cut the cord and not "live" in my former house that know longer belongs to me.

13. There are good points to it. The homeowner doesn't have to go homeless and the house doesn't deteriorate due to standing empty. I'm not sure about the long term ramifications of it. It is only a quick fix to immediate problems. Is the house put on the market while the people are renting the home? If so, does the renter have first option on the purchase due to their equity in it? Are they given enough time to find other living arrangements?
