Upcoming Foreclosures

Instead of a stimulus package supporting government programs and corporations why can't the stimulus bill give?

money directly to the citizens to: 1. pay off debts- this would help banks be solvent 2. save- prevent more indebtedness which caused foreclosures, bankruptcies, etc... 3. spend on American companies- this would grow American business who pay taxes to the American government Why does Obama think a bigger government is better for Americans when most Americans think a better paycheck is better for Americans?

  1. Bush tried that, it didn't work.
  2. Would that come under the heading of "redistributing wealth" or just the usual "communism"...and why are the Republicans now begging for it.
  3. This plan has absolutely nothing to do with helping the economy. It is purely paybacks for campaign support and future special interest votes. Our economy would be better off if we did nothing.
  4. The point of the stimulus package is to increase spending. Because private spending is contracting and there is no evidence that private spending will return to its old levels. Tax cuts will only work if there is a certainty that money will spent and not used for debt or saved.
  5. Because he is power hungry and wants to control us all ! Him and his buddy Rahm Emmanuel remind me of Pinky and The Brain !
  6. I do not understand this logic. Why od all bad decisions have to be bailed out? Who are we bailing out next?
  7. Good question. But such is the liberal philosophy. Liberals believe: 1. That government is the force that drives the economic engine. 2. That government is the solution when, in fact, it is part of the problem. 3. That a few hundred dollars taken from a neighbor's earnings is better than a few thousand dollars earned at a job. 4. That a paternal government is worth the loss in freedom and opportunity that it costs. 5. It is better to do with less and be 'secure' than reach your potential with a little effort and an acceptable risk. 6. And lastly, you can always print more money.
