Upcoming Foreclosures

Would my foreclosures prevent me from getting a tourist visa for my in-laws to come to the USA?

I am a US citizen and my wife is a US legal resident. We would like to invite my in-laws to California from Iran for a short visit (they were here 4 years ago for a visit) My question is if I am sponsoring them to come here and I have 2 homes that have gone to foreclosures, would that affect the chances of them getting a tourist visa. We make decent money ($70,000+). Does the State Dept who issues visas even care about my foreclosures? Thanks for any help!

1. The main thing the State Department cares about is proof of an unrelinquished foreign residence. They want the warm fuzzy inside that you're in-laws will go back to Iran after their visit.
2. Unlike other countries, you cannot "invite" or sponsor anyone to visit the US. They will need to apply for the visa themselves and pass the interview etc. on their own. They will basically need to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the ICE official that they do not pose an overstay risk. They will need to show that they have substantial ties to Iran before they will be allowed to come to the US. Your situation is not relevant to the consideration.
3. You can't sponsor them to come here. They will have to apply at their local US embassy for a B1/B2 tmeporary visa so that they can enter the USA to visit. What you make and what your situation is doesn't really come into it. That would only count if your wife was sponsoring them to become permanent residents.
