isn't there a website that I can get the information for free?

  1. Being a realtor I'll have to say, presuming they are licensed also, is to check w/a realtor you know and trust, get that human element. Brokers offices, get lists on a monthly basis of foreclosures from banks they request it from. Good big franchises, like C-21, will subscribe to all the foreclosures locally. The best way to find out is experiment. Get your listings from Realtytrac, C-21, and Re-Max. See who has the best selection, simple. Good realty offices, and better agents actually go out and check them out personally to see what is available, how much work might have to be put in them, now that is a working agent. Buyers sitting in the drivers seat, good luck.
  2. All foreclosures are listed for free at your County Recorder's Office. The problem is that you must pay cash at the foreclosure sale. And you pay up in 24 hours. No loans. No one has that much money. So no one buys them at the auction. /
