Upcoming Foreclosures

How long can a bank owned foreclosure last on the market in maryland right now at the beginning of winter?

It is close to Washington dc for less than 50K, SFH, as is, needs major fixes, they are offering it for a renovation loan or a cash deal

  1. till they sell it as all are winterized
  2. It depends on whether or not it's a good value. (I'm a Realtor only licensed in Virginia, but I can pull up the information from MRIS and give you some idea.) If it's a really good deal, I'm sure investors are already gearing up to make offers. Investors would love to get an offer accepted right around now. Allowing some time for closing, then a couple of months for fix-up, that'd bring the house on the market right at the start of the next buying season in late winter/early spring. So: If the deal makes sense, don't assume it'll still be on the market for another week or two, or month or two. Hope that helps.
  3. Winter is a slow season in that region for real estate, so they will winterize it, and could hold it indefinitely, hence the word "crisis" in foreclosure crisis.
