1. there are federal 800 numbers...but all will tell you that your very first step is to pick up the phone or get on line with your mortgage co and ask them for assistance...they are now goverened by the feds to provide you with assistance. good luck :)
2. 65% of all homeowners who have gotten help have defaulted and gotten re-foreclosed on change your spending habits before you become a statistic again
3. Their are programs designed by the government to help homeowners in trouble w/ their mortgage. However they are difficult to qualify for. Your bank may be willing to Modify your loan if you qualify for a loan modification. Who is your lender?
4. I would try two places first. The company that is servicing your mortgage. The office of your district's member of the House of Representative.
