  1. Try your local county tax accessor. The will have a listing. If you can't get there, look it up on line at your county's website. Do a site search for 'auctions". Another way is the newspaper. Look for the heading "legal notices". Good luck!
  2. Depends on where you live. Be advised that what you are attempting may not be as simple as you think it may be. MANY states have a 'redemption period' during which the former owner may pay the delinquent taxes after the tax sale and recover the property. In Louisiana, that period is THREE years. Check your state situation carefully before making such a move.
  3. The sheriff's office has that info.
  4. It may be different in your state but here in West Virginia the county has a delinquent tax auction once a year. Delinquent properties are published in the newspaper 3 times before the sale. The day of the sale, any properties not redeemed will be sold at auction. You may get it for the amount of taxes owed (plus publising fees) or you may have to bid higher. Even if you are high bidder the owner of the property has 18 months to redeem and you will receive your money back. Ive bought several for the company I work for but as far as doing the deed work afterward I would recommend a lawyer. Some properties are not what they are reported to be.(bad surveys, liens etc.)Do your homework before and be careful. If the property is really good, people can come up with the money to pay the taxes.
