Secret clearance and foreclosure help?

Due to unforseen circumstances my house went into foreclosure last year. This year I have a job opportunity to work with the governent, but they are requiring a top secret clearance. My questions are, Will I get denied a clearance because of the foreclosure? (besides the foreclosure my credit is pretty good. (No charge offs or delinquents)) Will I have to wait the whole 7 years (when the foreclosure drops off my credit) to apply for a government clearance. I would appreciate an answer from someone who was in a similar situation or someone who is a professional at this. Thank you in advance for your help.

1. What do you think a foreclosure is? A GIANT charge off. They have documented proof of your ethics and willingness to screw others. Do you really think they will over look this?
2. I think it will probably trigger them to do a full investigation on you and then thye will decide if they believe you are worthy of the clearance. I know when i had my clearance if i went into foreclosure or even got a parking ticket i would have to report it. The full investigation sucks also because they ask all of your friends and family everything about you. It takes a while also. I think my clearance took a while (9 months) because i lived in NYC area around 9-11.
