Upcoming Foreclosures

Texas Contract for Sale and slow payors?

A family member has several mobile homes which were sold on a contract for sale/installment agreement and most of the occupants are slow to pay every month. Do the typical landlord/tenant laws apply here and can he send them a 3 day pay or quit notice? Or does this have to be handled like a foreclosure? Any pointers would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

  1. That darn rent with option to buy gives them ownership rights! Check out the link for laws in any state including yours!
  2. Call the real estate attorney who drew up the Contract For Deeds and have them deal with it. Foreclosure costs money, but on CFD, I think it will actually take less time than a regular foreclosure.
