Government Tax Foreclosures Knowledge Base
Hey, Is It Cheaper To Buy Foreclosures or Government Tax Properties?? I am new to this so please correct me if I am wrong here: 1. Foreclosure properties are sold by institutions such as banks when someone defaults (fails to pay) on the loan. They can be dirt cheap or still pretty pricey depending on how much of the loan had been paid off. 2. Foreclosures are not the same as Government Tax Properties. 3) What are Government Tax Properties? Do they cost as low as 300 bucks? And do you own the entire property after just paying 300 bucks - or whatever the cost is? That seems too cheap that I feel it is a scam. 4) Any other cheap ways of buying properties?
Government Tax Foreclosures? Is it truly possible to purchase a house by only paying the taxes on it, and then sell it at true market price? They advertise houses for under 1000 dollars each. If anyone has any information in the form of links, or anything I would really appreciate it. Also, if you have tried this government program, please share your experience. Thanks
is the government tax foreclosure true? I saw an infomercial on government tax foreclosures and how you can order an entire info package, but i just want to ask if this is true and ask how it works, are the houses really that cheap and if there is a catch.
Buying government tax-foreclosure properties at pennies to the dollar? How is it possible that infomercials state that properties that government tax- fore-closure properties are selling for literally 2 or 300 dollars online?....This obviously cannot be true but how can they get away with making such sensational and impossible claims? Doesnt that break some better business bureau law somewhere? Are there any elements to this idea that are true? What is and what isnt? Can you buy a house that is in the final step of foreclosure like you see on web sites like trulia.com for only a coupl thousand or so for 3 bedroom nice houses?...How does this work, how do you buy a house that went into total foreclosure scott-free? I would apreciate any advice about investing in houses with out huge amonts of money down or even good credit..Thanx everyone :) Are house auctions the only way to really buy houses at a discont price? And where and when do houses get sold cheaply at auctions?
Where can I find a list of free and clear Government Tax Foreclosure Homes for sale? So I was watching this infomercial on t.v. about how there are government tax foreclosure homes for sale for very cheap prices that I couldn't even believe they were true. Is this kind of business legit and if so where can I get started to start looking for a list of these homes that are available for buy. I kind of did a search on my own but most of these sites ask you to register with them to view pictures of the properties and so fort. Is there any sites or anywhere where I can get a free list or where I can begin getting more information on how all this process works?
Has anyone heard of buying tax foreclosure property? I was told you can buy a house at one of these government tax foreclosure sales for about $600, and the house is worth a whole of alot more like a house of the value of $180,000. All you have to pay is the property tax light, water... and the house is legally yours? Has anyone else heard about this, is what I been told accurate? Where else can I find out about this type of sale my self, Thanks for your help.
Does property tax foreclosure happen across the USA? Hi im from the UK and can not beleive (dyslexic) that you can pay tax dollors and win property in government tax sales, right across the USA. I've done this in S.C twice and got lucky, so why is every one not rich over this. Perhaps the knoladge is to common and everyone knows a failure, so no body bothers with it, no scam, and no website selling repackaged public info, just interested..please write is it usa wide.
government foreclosures? I saw a bit on tv last night on government foreclosures. It said that because of back taxes the government will seize a property and then put it up for sale for hundreds to thousands of dollars. Is this true? Can I really buy such a property for only $1,000?
why do you think that it's legal, or is not legal, for the federal government to tax your income? i've seen many posts on this forum lately in reference to an income tax revolt. well, if you will all chip in a lot of money...do you have it?...to pay an attorney to form a class action lawsuit and bring it all the way up to the u.s. supreme court and then argue it even more, you might have a lawsuit, but uncle sam will still tax you as you are fighting against these taxes, you can be certain of that. because i have seen so many questions about the legality of the federal government taxing you and i, i wish to know which of you think that these taxes are in fact legal and which of you don't think these taxes are legal, and why. in other words, although most of you are not judges and lawyers, if you are informed, how would you back up what you believe? please give sources, as i will give to you now. here is a very interesting little (big, really, if you don't believe that the federal government has the legal right to tax your income) article that shows why the 16th amendment was never legally ratified: http://www.givemeliberty.org/features/ta... if you disagree with the premises presented in this article, then please tell me why. now then, in my quest for The Truth, i also investigated answers itself to determine what the public felt, and i found this question, only one, that the asker did not bother to choose best answer for, but here goes: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... one of the folks that answered (i myself don't think that the best answer award went to the best answer, i think that the best answer was ignored--it is below the award, which was an answers community vote, too bad) included a link to a discussion about the frivolity of lawsuits entered by individuals that refused to pay federal income tax, which, if you do not believe that the 16th amendment to the constitution of the united states is valid, and if you think that the laws are not ours, but are the government's, is an interesting read: http://www.irs.gov/taxpros/article/0,,id... i also wish to add that the above link refers to INDIVIDUALS that brought suit, but not a large group of american citizens who all believe that the 16th amendment was not legally ratified and that therefore, no federal income tax should be levied against us. (which reminds me, i want to state that we ourselves would be able to bring this country out of the depression that seems to be coming, immediately, if the comptrollers and accountants and bookkeepers of your employers did not HAVE TO take federal taxes out of your paycheck, since you'd sure have more buying power, enough, too, to make that mortgage payment if you are facing foreclosure)!!! (and, if those facing foreclosure could make those payments on time, they could get out of foreclosure and then the real estate market would get back to its historical cycle, which is this: 2 years a seller's market, followed by 5 years of a buyer's market, over and over and over again, so that income and savings can then buy those houses that got to be too highly priced in the 2 years of the seller's market... and i KNOW, because for 26 years i have owned quite a reputable real estate company and been licensed in IL, and i am very happy that i refused to participate in those risky loans that put so many people in deep, deep doo-doo as is proved today--i.e., i KNOW better by long experience and ethics that i disagree with taking that almighty commission buck by placing my folks into an impossible situation which they would then blame on me). (and take this as a given: i am published for writing of the real estate industry all about the real estate industry, so know that all of it, from unimproved land up to the sale of improved, built on, pieces, and all of those workers and materials that make it improved represents almost a THIRD of our GDP, so, it is damned important to our economy and it is important that those facing foreclosure pay their mortgages!!!). so then, i ask you, mr. or ms. john or jane q. public, is uncle sam illegally taking money from your income that you feel you could use wiser, in order to fund ITS programs, and to fund ITS very, very high employment rate, even today, when almost every other employment sector in the united states is telling us that they are laying off even more and more thousands of workers every day? and now i will present to you only the first of 12 youtube discussions by red beckman about the law that "never was," that show us how WE make the laws, because this is the united states of america, a republic, not a democracy, and not a fascist or communist state: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grjmnkj7L... which, if you say that you will revolt against the federal income tax, i ask you to really study up on what red buckman says in ALL 12 of these clips, because, you will need to tell your class action attorney to use these arguments to fight for you, and for me (because i, for one, want to retain more of my income--i really work HAR EDIT: which, if you say that you will revolt against the federal income tax, i ask you to really study up on what red buckman says in ALL 12 of these clips, because, you will need to tell your class action attorney to use these arguments to fight for you, and for me (because i, for one, want to retain more of my income--i really work HARD to get it, and don't you?). as is my habit, i will not give you a thumbs down if you happen to have different thoughts than i do, of COURSE not! but if you give me a one liner or can't back up your argument, i will give you thumbs down, but i will wait and let others that post answers to this question give them a TD themselves before i myself do it. whatever information you wish to include about yourself will interest me (age, education, geographical location, job, and so on). i'm making it 7 days, not 3, for you to answer so that you can delve into the articles/clips that are provided... BROWN950...: you should look at the first of the 12 clips that are all at the link i gave on youtube for the definition of common law. then i think you will think a little differently. i hope you edit and add to your answer after you watch that. EDIT: Dr. Science's links DO open, just clear your cache first. the first one is more interesting to me than the second one. well, if we want to change the tax laws via political activism, what route would you choose? i am an independent voter, are you? the reason i am (other than i don't want to vote a straight ticket) is because i do not want the parties to know WHO i plan to vote for. why don't more of you begin to look at the 3rd party candidates? there are the libertarian party, the constitutionalist party, and more. there is even a communist party. i think that the "apportionment" clause of the tax laws make it invalid, not only that it was not fully ratified as required by law. but put the two together and then ask ron paul. btw: if you wanted to categorize me with any party, you may as well call me a "paulista." that man knows about money! EDIT: it does not make sense to quote the internal revenue code as it applies to this question because you'd have to first have constitutional law before you go to any code, for anything, in this country.
John Beck's Free & Clear Real Estate System: Is this for real or is it a scam? This one seems too good to be true, yet they claim that they can't claim that you can buy government tax foreclosure sales for pennies on the dollar unless it was true. Does anyone know about this company OR if you can really buy homes for only hundreds of dollars? Am I a big sap for even thinking this could be for real?
Can I get a government grant to purchase property for real estate to sell? I have an idea that I think could earn me a fortune but I'm not clear about if its possible. I have located many houses that are vacant either because of taxes or bank foreclosures. I like to get a government grant and purchase the properties and turn around and sell them. Is this possible or not.
Is there an alternative way to learn about these financial things that infomercials advertise?... I see infomercials on government grants, tax write offs, tax foreclosure, pre foreclosures, financing, bank negotiation, ect. Is there an alternative to paying for these programs and studying it for yourself in books, websites, and other things? A couple names are John Becks Free and Clear, teachmeforeclosure.com, and so forth.
If persons donated their homes before foreclosure is it a tax deduction? Homelessness is on the rise so if so many empty houses and so many homeless persons were united by tax donations to the non profit sector to begin housing units for homeless. The government then or would reimburse donators and they could get rid of their white elephants to persons in need and the taxes would only need to be paid due to gift and exchange of properties after a realistic appraisal?
tax foreclosure house? i kind of understand that this means they take away homes from people who cant pay the mortgage, and the government wants the tax. then they auction them for only a couple hundred dollars plus the taxes which are only a couple thousand. so do they really sell these houses for under $1000 because when i look they cost normal price. how can i find the cheap houses.
Why does the government want to spend $700B to bailout bad businesses and banks? Here is a thought. We call it the Mukai bailout plan and is a plan that should be considered. You give $1M to every taxpayer who filed taxes which was 138 Million people and save the taxpayers money. Call it a TAX FREE stimulus check and I guarantee the foreclosures will go down and the economy will be stimulated. We could save a great deal of money. Has anyone had this thought?
Are you OK with a tax increase due to poor government spending and management? In the current situation, many American states face an economic free-fall based on several factors including the loss of state revenue, size of budget gaps, unemployment and foreclosure rates, poor money management practices, and state laws governing the passage of budgets. These troubles have forced these states to lay off or furlough state workers, slash services, and most of all -- raise your taxes. Here are my questions: 1. Has your taxes already increased in your state? 2. Are you OK with a tax increase due to poor government spending and management? 3.If your not happy with the tax increase, is there anything you can legally do to stop the government from pocketing more of your hard earned money? (Please, don't answer ACORN.) Holy-Frollicking-Gay-Rainbows Batman!
Why do people feel they need the government to bailed them out of a foreclosure? I have never lived beyond my means. I pay my bills on time including my mortgage. I have 3 neighbors who let their house go into foreclosure and yet they all drive the newest cars and have toys like boats and jet ski's. And by the way they just got back from vacation in Hawaii. I think the government should reward homeowners who pay their taxes and mortgages on time. And don't try to tell me these people were conned by loan companies. They knew exactly what they were getting into.
Why should I pay my mortgage if I can get the tax payers to bail me out? Obama plans on stopping foreclosures! Why not let the government pay for my house? Or give me such a low interest rate that I can pay it off and resale it for a bigger profit? Or just sale it and move to a better nieghborhood? It is sad that you just support Obama and you don't hear what he says! He is now pushing to stop all forclosures! It's called a moratorium on all forclosures!!!
What caused the increase in foreclosures ? I don't understand why people are complaining about this and why our government have to bail these people out. Most of my family are middle class people and they did not experience this because they were responsible. I am thinking it is the these peoples fault who failed to plan properly not the tax payers The banks are there to make money. Loans are not free, people know but they always seem to have a false sense of security. It is the mostly the burrowers fault not the lender. No one can force you to get something you dont want or cant pay. That is why we have to sign contracts.
What's the deal with the Government not coming to the table with regards to these foreclosures? We all look for who to blame and the Government is quick to look all around for a resource however they were aware of what was happening to housing prices and at the time only stood by and watched property taxes increase in some cases 500%. Why are they not rolling back past due tax bills to the amount before the sale that caused the increase and apply the amount as a lien due in 10 years? The economy will not withstand their hard line approach. First 5, you have a point and I completely agree that it's the responsibility of the home owner. However I work in the industry and this thing is goin to hit the fan in the next few months if we don't do what we need to here rather than whats right. Do you realize that the sale of an REO property in your neighborhood hits your home value in the immediate area by as much as 27%? Who do you think pays for all of this if the banks most effected by this cease to exist and leave a trail of debt in their wake. I'd rather pay now than wait till things get really bad. All of you out there in their 40s and 50s remember the S&L problems in the 80s don't you? Besides I suggested a bond type lien, not a bailout gift. Please reread the question till you get it. Foreclosure Fish has the right idea, however the negative impact of expensive Government involvement is already in place with the programs created. It's as though Local Government has a trashbag full of money and when the trashbag gets a tear they increase the costs to the tax payer to buy more trash bags. It's already costing us money, as well most lenders required an impound account to make sure taxes and insurance on the property are maintained. I've found that most lenders are not just absorbing the cost of the P&I but in many cases the T&I as well. One of my Loss Mitigation clients owed 12k in back payments and an additional 15k in taxes and insurance so local government has not even begun to feel the pain yet... who do you suppose they're going to run to when they stop getting paid. Further, you cannot tell me that the costs to operate local community has increased to the same 500% degree as property tax revinue.
The government was supposed to help with mortgage foreclosures where do you get info and help? I am one who got stuck in an ARM and in the meantime had a child and get no support whatsoever. I heard the government was supposed to have programs to help individuals from loosing their homes. I am not delinquent but my rate will adjust AGAIn in December and I can't afford it on top of my 2007 & 2008 property taxes and student loans and income taxes I owe from taking larger weekly exemptions to make ends meet. Anyone know of any programs that might help me? I am barely making it now and my payment will go up $80 and more every 6 months. I have rocky credit and my value of my home has gone down, live in the wonderful state of Michigan. All I want it the government to help me refinance. Where might I find info? I contacted my mortgage company (Ocewen) and they tell me I can afford another $200 per month.....where the hell they get that is beyond me!!! All I want it so keep from loosing my home! Any point in the right direction would help!! Sweetest Thrill - Didn't your mom teach you if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all! I'm not asking for a handout I'm asking for help to keep my house and keep paying the debt I owe and not walk away from it letting it go into foreclosure which will add to the pool of monies taxpayers are footing!!! You must not live in one of the states that are getting hit hardest with this wonderful state our economy is in. And let me guess you probabaly have a job that's not getting hit as well! My income has dropped because I work for an asphalt paving company. If you know anything about asphalt you know a major part of it's make up is OIL!!! And now they've had to cut our bonuses and raises to keep above water and the business operating. So to defend myself to your ignorant comments, if my income didn't get cut and if the housing industry wouldn't have plummeted I would be fine!!
tax foreclosure who needs john becks system? I went to the county court house, got the list and placed a tax bid and... got a house. No need for websites or pay sombody for public information. Yes it does work, my house was less then a $1000, yes a wreck but repaired and we are living in it... so hooray!!! No john beck or anyone else, we're in South Carolina and its bid win or money back with interest from the government. Im still looking for the catch, had this house two years now, yes i'll chat about it, can't help but shout it from the roof tops, welcome to the USA. An amazing concept for a former Brit. If anyone tells you you have to pay for the knowledge, they are lying. I taught myself and looked at a lot of houses that I didn't bid on or bid on and didn't win - but I still got good interest. I hate rip off merchants that take an honest good idea and twist it for further profit from the people who often need the truth (free) the most. Martin
Isn't there a better way to spend our tax dollars??? I am not saying that there is not a clear possibility of cheating and cover ups in the NFL, but is that really something that deserves tax dollars, federal investigations, and congressional hearings? With all the problems this nation has such as health care, the foreclosure crisis, social security, the war in Iraq, a nuclear Iran and North Korea, etc. why is our government spending so much time investigating baseball, steroids, and "illegal" taping of NFL games? The next thing you know, some congressman is going to call for an investigation into how NASCAR officials call a caution and millions of tax dollars will be spent on professional sports and regulating the rules of sports than dealing with issues important to this nation.
Dems- what can we tax now? ohhhhh here's one: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=aaNJtTeJaW_Q "Online Gambling Tax May Be Jackpot for Congress" Oooo how about this one: http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2010/04/dems_divided_bu.php "Congressional Dems are notably open to supporting some version of a value-added tax" AKA--->> A national sales tax above what ever the state sales tax is. http://www.cagop.org/index.cfm/capitol-update_1104.htm You better hope to God, that none of these CA dems ever make it to DC!!! What say you? CALIFORNIA TAXES:Hard-working Californians are paying one of the highest tax burdens in the country. Every day, Californians pay: 8.25% Sales Tax: Highest State Sales Tax Rate in the United States--- Franchise Tax Board 63.9¢ per gallon Gas Tax: Highest Gas Taxes in the Country---Tax Foundation 10.55% Income Tax: Second Highest Income Tax Rate in the United States---Forbes Magazine NEW DEMOCRAT PROPOSED TAX INCREASES:In spite of California’s high tax burden, and the fact that Californians are still digging out from under a $12.5 billion tax increase passed last year – the largest in state history – California Democrats in the Assembly and Senate have proposed more than a dozen measures this year to impose new or higher taxes on Californians, including: +$14 Billion: New Income Tax Increase on Californians– Democrat (AB 1836-Furutani), which would be a $14 billion tax hike over 5 years. +$1.4 Billion: New Taxes on Oil = Higher GasPrices– Democrats (AB 1604-Nava and AB 656-Torrico) , +Taxing the Miles You Drive:New Tax on the Miles People Drive– Showing they will pull out all the stops to find new ways to tax Californians, Democrat (SB 1299-Lowenthal). +25¢ per bag: New Grocery Store Bag Tax– Democrat (AB 1998-Brownley) that would impose a new green bag "fee" of at least 25 cents on each bag Californians use to carry home their groceries. +10¢ per can of soda:New Per Teaspoon of Sugar Tax on Soda – Democrats (AB 2100-Coto and SB 1210-Florez) to tax the soda that you drink to fund new programs. One proposal would add a one cent per teaspoon of sugar tax, which would amount to a 10 cent per can tax increase on a 12 ounce can of soda. +$3 per traffic ticket:New Tax on Traffic Tickets – Democrat (AB 2173-Beall) on the traffic tickets of Californians who may receive one, to pay for more government spending – a tax increase of $3 per traffic ticket. +Taxing Your Parking at Work:New Tax on Parking at Work – Democrat (AB 2640–Arambula) that workers receive for free or subsidized parking from their employers, treating this job benefit as taxable income. This would be a significant new expense on the wallets of working Californians. +4.8% Home Insurance Tax: New Home Insurance Policy Tax– With many struggling to avoid foreclosure, Democrats want to impose a new 4.8 percent tax (SB 1258-Kehoe) on the insurance policies of homeowners and property owners. This would be a $238 million tax increase in 2010-11 and a $480 million tax increase annually each following year. +$210 Billion?New Health Care Taxes– Democrats (SB 810-Leno) that would be paid for by a yet-to-be-determined new jobs tax, which could result in tens of billions in new taxes on employers and threaten job creation. A proposed "cap and trade" plan could result in $146 billion in new costs at $60 per ton of emissions, passed along to consumers, rate payers and taxpayers. +$420 Million?Repealing Job Creating Tax Incentives– At a time when the state’s unemployment rate is 12.5 percent and small businesses are struggling to stay open in California, Democrats (AB 1935 and 1936-De Leon) that will take away two job creating tax incentives (single sales factor and net operating loss carryover) that are critical for job creation. +Billions?Paving the Way for New Local Tax Increases– Democrats want to make it easier to raise taxes at the local level. They have proposed legislation (AB 2113-Evans) that would authorize cities and counties to establish local income taxes and car taxes, subject to a vote of the local electorate. DC- here they come?
Foreclosure & Filing Tax Return??? I have a question regarding my 2007 income taxes and a foreclosed property. A house I owned went into foreclosure which I then received the notice of sale about it being sold at public auction. According to the county's website, it was sold as a 'government sale' in 2007. The original purchase price of the house was 335K, then was refinanced at 400K. The property was sold at the auction for 366K. Does this mean I will have to claim the difference between the 400K and the sale of 366K, as income when I file my income taxes??? The FMV for the house is 381K. What exactly happens when I file my tax returns??? The bank transferred the second loan into collections and I received a letter stating I owe them 94K. So they are coming after me for the 94K, which 80K was the original total of the second loan, plus all the fees incurred.
Why can't the US Government help home owners reset their mortgage to the current value of their home? I am more curious than anything as to why? So for example. You buy a home at $450,000 but your home isn't worth that due to the economy. Lets say its only worth $200,000 in actual value. Why can't home mortgages be reset to the current value that way monthy payments are reduced in half to keep home owners in their homes, help or stop foreclosures. I would like to see that happen than tax credits. And then the government can give all these tax cuts to the mortgage company's to make up for the amount they are loosing from the mortgage cut. Did I explain that right? Anyways I am just courious if this has come up, Why it couldn't being down, what damage would it cause, if any, if this would happen and so on. Okay..so please leave your thoughts regarding the topci! You are all just angry people and are not explaining anything fully. Lets vent else where..we are just talking here Thank you!
How did the economy contribute to the rise of the 2nd party system? So far, I have: Panic of 1819 shocked workers and farmers. They blamed the Bank of the United States for foreclosures on their farms. The only way to fix this crisis was to get more politically involved; this is what followers of Andrew Jackson did. Jackson sought control of the government to reform the national bank. States also implemented tax wars on the bank. The Supreme Court ruled in McCulloch vs. Maryland that states could not tax an institution of the federal government. any more ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
the bloated welfare states of France and Sweden have lower corporate rates and generally better corporate tax? Now that recession-warning lights have begun to blink, Democrats should give tax hikes a rest. As tax-happy Democrats might have noticed, the stock market resembles a kindergartner on a swing set: half-giddy, half-scared, and hyperactive. Meanwhile, payrolls sagged by 4,000 positions last month. Not since August 2003 has America created no new jobs. Fifty-two economists in September 13’s Wall Street Journal offered a 36-percent average probability of recession by next September, up from 28-percent in August. Oil hit $81.93 per-barrel Wednesday — hardly good news. And the tumultuous home-mortgage industry suffered 243,497 foreclosure listings last month, up 115-percent versus August 2006, RealtyTrac.com reports. This mess triggered 12,000 layoffs, just at lender Countrywide Financial Corp. To prevent tight credit from suffocating the economy, the Federal Reserve Board Tuesday hastily administered a 0.5-percent federal-funds-rate reduction. Amid these worrisome omens and genuine human suffering, the last thing America needs is for congressional Democrats to stuff a pillow over the economy’s face. But they can’t control themselves. “Through 2012, the Democratic Congress’ new budget raises taxes $217 billion,” the National Taxpayers Union’s Pete Sepp calculates. “If no surpluses appear that year, another $175.5 billion tax hike automatically kicks in.” This $392.5 billion includes a halving of the per-child tax credit, restoration of the marriage penalty, a 50-percent leap in the low-income tax bracket (10-percent under Republicans; 15-percent under Democrats), and the resurrection of the Death Tax — from 0 to 55-percent. After August’s tragic Minneapolis bridge collapse, House Transportation chairman James Oberstar (D., Minn.) proposed a “temporary” nickel-a-gallon federal gasoline-tax increase. Never mind that existing gas-tax revenues vanish into narcissistic pork projects rather than urgent infrastructure repairs. Such a tax hike would “cost American motorists an estimated $25 billion over the next three years,” NTU reckons. Democrats cannot plea that soaring deficits require tax hikes to absorb red ink. Indeed, the federal budget gap narrowed from $413 billion in 2004 to $158 billion today, proving that the best deficit medicine nearly always is to limit taxes and consequently unleash American enterprise. A thinner federal slice of a bigger economic pie usually yields revenues exceeding pre-tax-cut levels. Federal receipts have zoomed 7-percent this year. “The tax cuts are working exactly as intended,” Heritage Foundation analyst Brian Riedl argues. “Lower tax rates have increased the incentives to work, save, and invest, and as a result, the economy has grown faster than expected.” He adds: “Concerns that the Bush tax cuts would lead to a long-term shortfall of government revenues have proven false …Tax revenues in 2007 are now estimated to be $70 billion above the level projected even before the 2003 tax cuts. In other words, tax revenues are now above their pre-tax cut baseline.” Democrats cannot deny what happened after President Bush and Capitol Hill Republicans slashed maximum capital-gains taxes from 18 to 15-percent in 2003. Rather than dwindle $5.37 billion between 2003 and 2006, as the congressional Joint Tax Committee’s antique, static-analysis model wrongly predicted, revenues actually advanced $53 billion. Foreign economic ministers understand these lessons and are lowering taxes as if Franklin Roosevelt never lived and Ronald Reagan never died. “Sweden and Russia last year eliminated their estate taxes because they said the tax was economically counterproductive,” economist Stephen Moore wrote in the August 31 Wall Street Journal. “In Germany under Chancellor Angela Merkel, the corporate tax rate has been reduced to less than 30 percent from 39-percent.” Poland recently chopped its business tax from 27-percent to 19. Even Hanoi gets it! Thanks to corporate-tax relief, “the business environment will become more and more attractive, resulting in increased investment,” Vietnamese tax chief Nguyen Van Ninh told Moore. While America’s corporate tax levitates at 35-percent, seven European Union nations have lowered business levies this year. The EU-average corporate tax is 24.2-percent. “Further corporate tax rate cuts are being implemented in Germany, Estonia, Spain, and the United Kingdom, and rate cuts are being discussed in the Czech Republic and France,” observes Cato Institute senior fellow Dan Mitchell. “Even the bloated welfare states of France and Sweden have lower corporate rates and generally better corporate tax systems than America.” Democrats thus resist global pro-market trends, even among progressive governments long on social solidarity and short on “reckless cowboyism.” But, for most Democrats, these facts and numbers are irrelevant. Taxes are not about merely funding vital government duties and basic public services. They are meant to punish the wealthy, “correct” personal behavior, and distribute universal largesse. Thus, Democrats itch to raise taxes on highly lucrative private-equity partnerships, from 15 to 35-percent. True to form, the Democratic Senate voted in August to hike cigarette taxes 156 percent, from 39 cents to $1 per pack. This would ignite a massive explosion in the State Child Health Insurance Program. The Democratic House extended government medicine to kids in families of four earning quadruple the Federal Poverty Line, or $82,600 — twice today’s threshold. The House also redefined “child” as an eligible boy or girl …up to age 25. While America’s economy clings from a ledge, Democrats dance on its fingertips. When the donkey party promises “change,” it delivers — good and hard.
Who should the government bail out? I keep hearing people say let the mortgages fall into foreclosure because those people signed the contract and no matter what the reason they can not pay now, it's their own problem. If this is so, why did we bail out the banks? Why are we helping other countries? Why did we help those in disaster zones like Katrina? Why are we paying taxes if it can't help our own people first?
Why hasn't the government jumped in to help people in foreclosure because of predatory lenders? I am in foreclosure in Maine because a lender set me up for a payment I could not legitimately afford, and am losing my family home that I have owned for 20 years, and my grandfather owned for 20 years before that. My mortgage is $2,012 per month ($2,600 offered in a "work-out") and my monthly take-home pay is $2300. Go figure. AND they charged me $19,000 in closing costs!!! I have just been told that 7 out of 10 homes in Maine are in foreclosure because of this same scenario. This is a MAJOR crisis and the only people out there to get help from are other predatory lenders willing to do the same thing to me to help "save my house" - it continues to go on. I have worked full-time all my life, always paid my taxes, am a law-abiding citizen, and yet, I can find no state or federal programs that I am "eligible" for because I "make too much money ($38,000 per year faily of three), and I am not an immigrant. Someone please explain this to me.
Before buying at county tax auction?? I'm interested in buying land/lots at a county foreclosure sale in NC. I understand I should get a title search done before I even BID. Regarding liens - is it true that all non-goverment liens (mortgages..creditors) are wiped clean if property goes to tax sales? As I understand it...the county files/advertises Notice of Default three times..or for a period of time, giving opportunity for creditors to step forth and basically assume the county taxes in arrears. Government liens go with the previous owner or stay on the property?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GOVERNMENT??!!? I just saw on the news that there is a new law in action. It states, that if you have had a foreclosure, then you may not vote. WHAT?!?! It says in the Constitution that the only way that the government may take away your vote, is if you have been imprisoned. It does not say anywhere that they can take it away if you have had a foreclosure. Its clearly unconstitutional! This government just keeps pissing me off more and more. They are literally taking our right away from us, and nobody seems to care. they are doing this because they know that most of the people that will get foreclosures are African-American, and by doing this they will take away they're right to vote for, the obvious man that most will vote for, Obama. We need to wake up and see what is going on. Did you know that the IRS is also unconstitutional? The IRS is in the executive branch, and in the Constitution it says that only the Congress, the legislative branch, may collect taxes. What is wrong with this government. If this continues, then we will one day become a fascist state. That is not good. So my questions are, is this law not wrong, and for the ones that still believe that the government is there for you, are you starting to see what is really going on? Viva La Revolucion
School/Property Tax Question? Why is it that most states make home owners pay school/property taxes regardless of whether they have children or not? And in turn, why don't people who rent and have children not have to pay these taxes? I believe that most first time home buyers don't know and are not educated on the extra expenses that taxes add to their mortgage payments and/or overall annual housing costs. Why isn't this explained better (i.e. all online mortgage calculators should be mandated to allow added tax costs to figure out the TRUE monthly mortgage payment)? Could this play a major contributing factor to the rise in foreclosures in America? Why can't local governments see that if they started charging school taxes to families that have children regardless of their mortgage or renting status that it would be better for the school systems and make it a better and a more fair economy? People may not be so apt to have alot of children if they know they have to pay school taxes whether they owned or rented

Should we really spend tax payer money on bailing out people going into foreclosure? The use of tax payer money is every where with the different buy outs the government is trying to stabilize the economy. But.... Does anyone feel that it is fair that we as tax payers need to bail out people that are going into foreclosure? Reminding you that alot of people that went into these mmortgageagreements had no business in getting into the homes they did i.e. making 40k a year moving into a 400k home and plainly overstretched their budgets; and did not educate themselves about sub prime/apr/points all the things that should of been understood before purchasing a home. Or people jumping in the market to turn houses to make a profit which is a business and as with all businesses come with risks and now they are stuck with the homes. its basically bailing out people that overstepped their reach, forgiving if not rewarding ignorance and bailing out peoples failed attempts to turn profits. So how does everyone feel about this issue that is being disscussed by our gov? ( I feel like im being kicked for staying with something reasonable i could afford and being responsible.)
Why are the Democrats thinking about taking the slowing economy as an Election issue? The U.S. Economy was enjoying an historical run of good times and high employment under the Republicans. The longest period of high employment and number of jobs in our history. In November of 2006, the Democrats took control of both the House and the Senate. Since the Economy was running at an unusally high rate of job creation, the Democrats just sat around the bath house and blamed Bush and Cheney for the WAR and Katrina. How in the HELL, can Obama stand there and LIE in public saying that the current failing economy is the Republicans fault, when it was the Democrats lousy stinking tax increases, excessive government interference and over regulation along with a continued open border policy with Mexico, that destroyed our Good EconomicTimes. Please tell Obama that his promised change, has already occurred and that we are already suffering the consequences. Any one in foreclosure, in for Obama?
What chance is there of peace in the Middle East when we are led by such a flawed man? When you look at the present administration and the number of conflicts which have flared up since they came to power can you honestly see a lasting peace emerge as long as they stay in power? Just look at the CV of our president. Is it one which inspires trust, or confidence. What chance do we or the world have of lasting peace when the most powerful country in the world is run by a man with this track record.? the bush legacy? EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • LAW ENFORCEMENT: I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been lost" and is not available. MILITARY: I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam. COLLEGE: I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader. PAST WORK EXPERIENCE: I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our right-wing friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS: I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America. I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money. I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history. With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT: I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record. I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week. I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury. I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history. I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period. I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period. In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that figure has risen to over 3 million lost jobs by the end of 2003. I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her. I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President. I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations. My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. history, Enron. My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision. I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history. I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed. I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history. I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts. I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U.S. history. I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government. I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history. I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission. I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law. I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention. I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election). I set the record for fewest number of press conferences of any President since the advent of television. I set the the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, 2001, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history. I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history. I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind. I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community. I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families -- in war time. In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq, then blamed the lies on our British friends. I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security. I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD. I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice. RECORDS AND REFERENCES: All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view. All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view. All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review.

First president in US history to unilaterally attack a sovereign nation against the will of the United Nations and the world community. First president to run and hide when the US came under attack (and then lied saying the enemy had the code to Air Force 1) First US president to establish a secret shadow government. Took the biggest world sympathy for the US after 911, and in less than a year made the US the most resented country in the world (possibly the biggest diplomatic failure in US and world history). With a policy of 'dis-engagement' created the most hostile Israeli-Palestine relations in at least 30 years. Fist US president in history to have a majority of the people of Europe (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and stability. First US president in history to have the people of South Korea more threatened by the US than their immediate neighbor, North Korea. Changed US policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts. Set all-time record for number of administration appointees who violated US law by not selling huge investments in corporations bidding for government contracts. Failed to fulfill my pledge to get Osama Bin Laden 'dead or alive'. Failed to capture the anthrax killer who tried to murder the leaders of our country at the United States Capitol building. After 18 months I have no leads and zero suspects. In the 18 months following the 911 attacks I have successfully prevented any public investigation into the biggest security failure in the history of the United States. Removed more freedoms and civil liberties for Americans than any other president in US history. In a little over two years created the most divided country in decades, possibly the most divided the US has ever been since the civil war. Entered office with the strongest economy in US history and in less than two years turned every single economic category heading straight down. Help!!!! Please help me!? My uncle is dying. He has cancer and he has exausted every means of help for medical expenses. The government has even taken his tax check from him because of medical expenses. His house is in foreclosure because he was going to catch up with his tax check. He even received a letter from the senator, saying that there is no more help for him in the system. After all the chemo, it killed the cancer off. Well now he has a cancer on his liver and he would need more chemo to kill that and prolong his life. Does anyone know of any NON-Government agency that would help even if it was just to pay for his house so he dont lose it? Does anyone know of anywhere I could direct him to go?

Bush also went AWOL...and had his hand in the demolition of the WTC. Bush referred to the US Constitution as a God damn piece of paper. He was wrong about WMD. That got the US into a war with Iraq. The UN said there were no weapons and we still went to war anyway. At least Colin Powell did the right thing and resigned. Too bad Bush doesn't have Powell's intregrity His initial response to hurricane katrina was horrible. The "no one left behind" idea is terrible: dumb down education so children look smarter without learning what they should. The patriot act violates the bill of rights. How can we talk about the freedom of democracy here in the US when the government keeps taking away those freedoms? His tax cuts did not go to those at the bottom of the income bracket. He raised interest rates for those taking loans to go to college. Abstinence taught for sex education does not work. Safe sex should also be taught in school as well. He talked about border protection and sealing off America from Mexico, then gives the Saudis (i think it was them) control over offshipping cargo on our coast. I thought we were supposed to be protecting our borders, not selling that right off to the highest bidder! His environmental policy is not helping reduce global warming. His solution is clean-burning coal! That will never happen!
File taxes separately from estranged spouse? I have always filed jointly. Our children are grown. We are separated since October, 2007; he lives elsewhere. I don't think he plans to file taxes, he worked for him self and will get a 1099 and unemployment statement. I worked half a year and unemployment for half a year. The home is in my name and so is the mortgage. I plan to file soon, but Taxslayer online says that if we lived together during 2006 we have to file together?? As I said, he probably won't be filing at all, he's anti government. I have no money for lawyers, tax consultants, etc. I just paid 4 months of mortgages to get out of foreclosure, and other bills that he created just to get everything in my name. Any sugestions? Shey
Who exactly qualifies for the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007? I am asking because our house is $100K less then what we owe and our lender doesn't want to lock our rate which resets in August, so we are thinking of foreclosure right now since it makes no sence to make 4 more payments if at the end we are not going to be able to afford the payments and still end up in foreclosure but we are affraid of the consequences which involve taxes and all that government laws... All of this is so stressful help please... How can we find out if we qualify for it? Thank you for your time...
Do you think Foreclosure Bill will help the average person? Thinking this may be a help to consumers? Wait until you read what the people who you elected are going to do. First of all this bill is ‘bi-partisan’ and was voted ‘yea’ at 84-12. The Senate has proclaimed it as a package designed to help businesses and homeowners ‘weather the housing crisis.’ The supporters of the bill in the Senate also acknowledge it does little to help borrowers losing their homes. it actually does nothing to help them at all, there are no provisions for those in duress. For Builders The plan gives them large tax breaks. Over a three year period no less. The same guys who made huge fortunes building homes and condos at inflated prices the last 6 years. For investors $7000 tax credits for buying foreclosed properties. This can include big businesses like lenders. Buying a foreclosed home means going to a foreclosure sale. At this time this will mean 99-100% lenders tax credit as no one else will be there. $4 billion in grants for communities to buy and fix up abandoned homes. Grants will probably be given to those that can afford to buy lots of those homes, like large investment firms, lenders, and builders. Local Joe Public will see little of this in my opinion For the oil companies and their ‘renewable energy divisions.’ $6 billion in unrelated tax breaks. This tax break goes against the Senates own rules regarding revenue increases. Well, you elected corrupt people to lead, what did you expect. The businesses that made the most money in the last 10 years were Oil companies. They are the ones that will get this $6 billion tip. What the heck is this doing in a foreclosure bill? Other notes The plan modernizes the FHA to allow more people to refinance into loans back by ‘the depression-era agency.’ So, if you have good credit and payment history, the FHA will be there for you. Of course that helps no one in trouble at all. Rumors of what the House will do when it receives it. Try to reject 25 billion in tax breaks to ‘money-losing’ businesses like home builders. I think, if I were to be cynical, that only 'money-making' home builders will get this. The House seems to want to drop the tax credit for buying foreclosed properties. Maybe they are afraid too many regular people may be able to buy a foreclosed home? For the people $150 billion for pre-foreclosure counseling and stronger loan disclosure requirements. The only 'foreclosure counselors' will be your lenders. The only ones doing disclosure requirements will be your lenders. Lenders, say hello to another 150 Billion, thanks for the memories. Tax breaks for ‘first-time’ home buyers and investors in low income rental housing. You could sum this up as 'Nobody and slum lords.' A separate house bill would be paired with it that gives $300 billion to refinance loans for 1 million+ homeowners who ‘might face’ foreclosure. Keyword 'might', this means if you are in foreclosure or probably cannot stop heading towards it you will not be eligible. This is a sad joke. The White House George Bush, the President, ‘opposes’ the plan but has no plans to veto the final version coming from the House. Thanks for 'almost' George! The Bush administration countered those plans Wednesday with its own, far narrower, proposal. It would expand an existing FHA program to allow more homeowners who are facing large rate hikes to refinance into more affordable government-insured loans And this will preclude everyone in trouble or who already faced huge rate hikes
Is it really the job of congress to regulate the rules of NFL football??? Funny thing... I asked the same question in 5 different catagories, and NFL fans think I must be a Pats fan and that this nonense is worth spending billions of dollars investigating and wasting hours upon hours of time by congress. I guess I must have missed how the fact that the pats filmed games against NFL rules was a national security issue or was going to fix the economy. Oddly enough, if the NFL said taping was legal, there would be nothing to discuss. And the NFL did fine the pats and they admitted to it... but again, NFL fans on Yahoo Answers must have the tax dollars to throw away. I sure hope most of you don't make it to the polls this November.... now I know why we have so many morons in office.
Should the preamble to the constitution be changed to, "We the People, Inc."? Is this pretty much the view of most of the politicians on Capital Hill today? With American jobs being shipped overseas, cheap illegal labor allowed to cross the border, tax cuts aimed at corporations, free trade agreements, etc. all the focus of government has been on corporate America for several years. In the meantime issues like health reform languish in congress, and home foreclosure rates hit the highest levels since the Great Depression while corporate profits soar to new heights. Do you think we should go ahead and change the preamble to read as the government sees it, "We the People, Inc."
What do you like the most about Senator McCain? 1. Mostly, I like the fact that Sen. McCain is proud to be an American (and I am proud of him). 2. Sen. McCain won't raise taxes (YOUR hard-earned money stays in your pocket instead of giving it to the government). 3. Sen. McCain will protect Americans around the world and at home. American soldiers will become the background of the fighting, while the Iraqi forces will take the foreground. Our soldiers will eventually stay as peacekeepers and protectors of Americans abroad - as they are in many of the places around the world). 4. Sen. McCain has a strong idea to save family homes from foreclosure. (Clinton's 5 year freeze on what the gov. charges the mortgage lenders has nothing to do with mortgage lenders adjusting the rate to us - the consumer, and as for Obama, he hasn't a clue except to attack Sen. McCain for coming up with a plan). 5. Sen. McCain may be a Republican, but he wants the party to go back to its basic fundimentals - not the was Bush treated it. Sen. McCain knows and respects, and is respected by Democrats in both the House and Senate. He has actually worked with them, and can do so for the better of America when he, Sen. John McCain, become your President of the United States of America. 6. Sen. McCain is honest. 7. Sen. McCain has foreign policy experience, and is well-respected by current foreign leaders with whom he has recently met. 8. Sen. McCain wants to keep jobs in America, and not see them go overseas, so he has a tax incentive plan for businesses to keep jobs here. Sen. McCain wants to financially help individuals to retrain for new jobs after losing jobs to foreign competitors such as the automobile and computer manufacturers. 9. Sen. McCain wants to eliminate the government's road tax during the Summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day). This would save us 18 cents per gallon, and diesel truckers would save 28 cents per gallon. The deisel tax savings would keep costs down due to delivery expenses of goods and services. 10. Sen. McCain lives against the corruption of the system. He could easily earmark millions of dollars for Arizona (like Clinton and Obama have for their states), but he hasn't asked for $1.00 because it's OUR money they take. He doesn't take money from Special Interest Groups because he doesn't want to be in their pocket (like Clinton and Obama have).
Why are we giving money to help homeowners in foreclosure? It seems to me that a majority of the foreclosures are from people who wanted to make a quick buck during the bubble and wound up losing. Sure there are some foreclosures from people who lost jobs but they're not what's causing the current mess. Why are we helping the people who were investing in real estate? Wouldn't it just encourage everyone to jump into the next bubble knowing the government would bail them out? Also, what about when people take extreme risks by investing in high-risk stocks and junk bonds? Isn't it the same thing? I don't think the government should give away our tax dollars to cover people's risky and uneducated investment strategies. I can understand people falling on hard times but people who lied about their income to get big loans should just go down. And it's not just the democrats doing it. The republicans are signing these bills just as much as the dem's. Bush is going to sign another bill giving away money pretty soon. He could veto it if he thought it was so liberal.
Should we really spend tax payer money on bailing out people going into foreclosure.?
Is an individuals income "personal property" (not taxable) and is the 16th amendment abused by the IRS. The 16th Amendment reads: The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration. The Supreme Court defines "income tax", as an excise tax "imposed with respect to the doing of business in corporate form". With tax on property, gas, sales, heating, communications, cable, auto registration, inheritance, lottery winnings, capitol gains, home sales, home buying and even foreclosure the government is completely over taxing like never before. Question is, if the federal reserve bank is privately owned by anonymous individuals and corperations, why am I sending my money away without there being an accounting of how the tax collected is spent? Isn't this taxation without representation?
Should a Foreclosure be deleted on your credit report?? Would it make sense for our government to delete a foreclosure from the millions of individuals who has obtained one on their credit report within the last 2-3 years. The way I see it, it would allow those who now have horrible credit to get back into spending money by purchasing (a home, cars, re-financing, ect..) These tax cuts and decrease in interest rates only help those that are not affected by the massive housing crunch. If we decreased the amount of inventory that is out there in the housing sector, we would be able to get our economy back on track. Agree or disagree? I hope to hear from you.
The county I live in is passing a law to stop foreclosures. What do you think? I work for the county in the offices so I am not allowed to disclose what state or what county. Basically the heads of the county government and the sheriff got together and are temporarily asking the sheriff's department to stop foreclosures pending the new law. The law was created to because it was displacing familys who had no where to go and also leaving abandoned property in the town where it has increased crime. Under the new law, a bank or mortgage company cannot foreclose upon a property unless 1) Can prove they will have someone occupy that property within 30 days or 2) The taxes have not been paid on the property In addition, the law states that it will not allow foreclosure if there are children living in the house until it is stipulated in the foreclosure that they will have adequate housing. Meaning, they can't throw a parents with children on the street unless the parents, state, or bank find them adequate housing. 2) There is also another law they are passing that if a foreclosed property is abandoned for more then 90 days, the county will fine the property owner $20/day until proof can be satisfied that either the property has been sold for occupancy or the bank has found someone to occupy the property. These new laws exclude private party liens on property. Such as owner-financing. I think it is great that they are doing this. I mean sure, people should pay their bills. No question about it. But sometimes, people lose their jobs or mortgage companies screw over people by changing their interest rates and people can't afford to pay their mortgage. This law is to protect people from being out on the street and to control crime from abandoned property. Unfortunately, when a bank gets wind of this, I am sure they will start sueing in state court when the sheriff's office refuses to do a foreclosure. Then ofcourse, no one will right mortgages in the county probably. But I am ok with that. What do you think about this? FYI - Let me clarify the law. If the bank wants to foreclose but the occupants are paying the taxes, the bank can still foreclose as long as they can have proof there will be occupancy after they leave. Ofcourse, in regards to children, that other thing in regards to making sure there is adequate housing would have to be met too in order to go forward with the forclosure. kkoh: So you would rather see all these families get displaced so that the banks make their money? Wow. Got it.
Why is it so important if a few athletes used steroids??? It seems pretty clear that several "great" ball players have used steriods.... and it is wrong. And it is a crime, but is that really something that deserves tax dollars, federal investigations, and congressional hearings? Can anyone really tell me that it is so important that Clemens is found gulity for injecting steriods instead of congress spending time working on all the issues that really is the responsibility of congress? With all the problems this nation has such as health care, the foreclosure crisis, social security, the war in Iraq, a nuclear Iran and North Korea, etc. why is our government spending so much time investigating baseball, steroids, and "illegal" taping of NFL games? Congress has long been letting the American people down and this is just another example of how they never seem to do the job they were elected to do. I am not missing the point at all. I have no problem with anyone going to jail for illegal use of steriods.... and it is a crime to lie under oath. my question is when did it become an issue for the United States Congress? We have federal courts and prosecutors for this and Congress should be tackling bigger issues rather than if an individual did steriods OR as a couple stated, lied under oath.
Why cant our government listen to logic? If our congress put aside a federal law for 2 years for banks to be allowed to lease all homes near or in foreclosure for 1/2 price of payments, also mortgage companies to and lock down all credit cards at 12% and accept payments at normal payment price at todays date 2007. then our economy would change for the better. all home owners would pay the taxes, ins. upkeep and after 2 years all payments would resume at normal payments. homeowners win, banks win, all mortgage co.'s win also. they each get rent for 2 years then back to normal. this way the homeowner can pay off credit card debts by making doubling payments, since your renting for 2 years at half price. as is hfc is the wrong way to go. if you get a raise at work it goes to your house payments, instead of normal needs. I SUGGEST YOU WRITE YOUR BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE, JUST A SHORT VERSION TO COMMENT ON THIS QUESTION IS CALLED FOR the stemulous package is a $300 to $600 check. people are loosing their homes, rather than loosing their homes they could lease their homes at half price, so they can wipe out their credit cards since it would be half payment from 2007, not 2008. responsible people would do this. click this= http://www.socyberty.com/Activism/First-Step-for-the-Solution-to-Global-Warming.103109 if you start a salvage co and do the first step, you may get rich from under the sand, India found a old stone building in the sand near the beach and ships for the last million years have been beached or storms have sunk them so you a honest job and help to delete global warming at the same time. you may even get a grant for the cost, who knows.
For foreclosure properties, can you tell me the steps of the process please? For example, how is it determined whether house is owned by bank or government and whether… and how is it determined whether it goes on the market or to an auction… and where are the auctions held? If back taxes are owed, does the bank pay the city off? I am very curious as to how this process works. If know any of these answers, will you reply please? Thanks!
Income Taxes and Foreclosure? I have a question regarding my 2007 income taxes and a foreclosed property. A house I owned went into foreclosure which I then received the notice of sale about it being sold at public auction. According to the county's website, it was sold as a 'government sale' in 2007. The original purchase price of the house was 335K, then was refinanced at 400K. The property was sold at the auction for 366K. The FMV for the house is 381K. I had 2 mortgages on the house totaling 400K. My question is this, which difference will I have to claim as income when I file my 2007 taxes? The diff between 400K and 366K (Auction Price) or 400K and 381K (FMV Price)? Also, what are the chances that the bank will sue me for the 400K?
What employment in the Real Estate Industry is available BESIDES being an agent? Thanx----------------------!! I am just curious what employment opportunities there are in the real estate industry. Besides of course a real estate agent. I not interested in being an agent. I am pretty familiar with real estate. I am looking to see what employment (self employment/other) is out there. Please Exclude Opportunities Related To: Tax Sales Foreclosures Fixer Uppers Etc. I have basic knowledge in working with planning/zoning so im not a complete fool when it comes to Real Estate. Ive purchased books on sub-dividing......etc..my father was a builder, and im not interested in that.....what can you think of?? What people have you known in the real estate industry besides these jobs that I have listed above? Also I am extremely financially stable due to a loophole that I have found in the government system. In a few years I would like to be a private lender. I know from experience how much money is made there. Also I would like the freedom to be outdoors and not cooped up inside all day, thx!
When will we see Chelsea Clintons tax returns? Chelsea Clinton works for a hedge fund, whose founder is a big contributor to Hillary's campaign. They specialize in buying up foreclosed real estate and bankrupt companies, then sell at a profit. As the economy tanks, the fortunes of the Clinton's will grow exponentially. Stepen Schwarzman, a hedge fund manager, made $5.1 billion last year. John Paulson, another fund manager made $3 or $4 billion last year from mortgages. Greenspan is an advisor to Paulson. It's a perfect scam, business conditions so harsh, bankruptcies rising, homeowners facing foreclosure, and behind all this is Chelsea Clinton, rushing in to buy up the assets for pennies on the dollar at the bankruptcy sale. Then later, after a government bail out the assets will rise and the Clintons will get richer and richer. Remember when Hillary earned $100,000 in pork bellies off a $1,000 investment? You ain't seen nothing yet. Can you see this coming at you like an atom bomb? American Capital Group. look it up if you don't know it.
Possibly America never saw it coming? About the Middle East, we may be in term of bigger power due to our military size perhaps, but our economy and business is being invested by the Middle East. Do you think the Middle East and other countries are buying us out? OPEC barrel of oil is 110 + that 42 gallon, a full tank for a GMC truck. In my opinions, their Governments have nothing to do with the US economy business. But their people do. On the other hand, their way of thinking is of old fashion: Money is Power. They just continually are buying us out. While our FED kept cutting the rate, reporting to law maker and our research and development are too caught up in election, taxes, foreclosures, and the slice and dice of cutting the rate. Who is checking on other Countries economy? 1. Do you think the Middle East and other countries are buying us out? 2. Who is checking on other Countries economy? This is where they are making their move when we don’t realize it. 3. Any thought?
Do I owe the government $50,000??? This is a deadly serious question!!! I recently had a house that went into Foreclosure last year. Just last month I received a 1099 in the mail saying that I had abandoned the house (which I never lived in and bought at non-owner occupied) and the form said that what I owed was $447,000 and the value of my house is only $400,000. I know I have to show this to my tax preparer when I go to do my taxes and I'm so scared because I need to know if I'm going to have to pay the difference to the IRS??? HELP ME!!!!!
